Additionally to the Interior project and written work we were also required to do a short submission entitled ‘The Space Between’. Looking at a forgotten space next to the front of the art school building which currently only features a dull, grey set of stairs and little else we were asked to create a feature which would reflect the mass of creativity going on in the building next door. Using the computer program 3D Studio max we were asked to create the immediately surrounding buildings and landscape before using materials, textures and shapes to render some finished images of the installation.

I found this particularly difficult due to the poor quality of teaching we received for the computing class. Having been away on exchange last semester meant that we were not ganging the vital skills required for using the computer package. However by doing this short project my skills and knowledge of the application have definitely increased and moving forward I will hopefully be able to develop and use the program with confidence for renders in the future.
