Everything is coming together!

Back in the studio this week I have been working towards the final visuals for the board as the printing deadline is less than a week away. Although quite happy with the collage effect beginning to emerge in my visuals last post, I have decided that they’re not quite right for the project and I was looking for a brighter, funner finish to the images. Playing around on photoshop I began layering and slicing into some of the rendered pictures from the sketchup model and after a long time something beautiful started to emerge!

Using a combination of found images and textures on top of the renders has helped to create the fun and creative feel I was hoping for. The space is going to be a place where lots of different things will happen and people can use it for different events and activities so it seemed fitting to keep the visuals free and open to interpretation.

A lot of thought has gone into the name and branding this week and after hundreds of ridiculous suggestions and indecision I have FINALLY decided on a name. ‘The Social Hook Up’ or S.H.U for short seemed to be quite a catchy and fitting name for the concept. It is also slightly ironic as the ‘shu’ is known in American prisons as being a place of solitary confinement.

Sticking with the bright colours present throughout the rest of the project I have been debating over a pink or purple to use as the main branding for the boards but am still yet to decide on a final font or logo..

Moving on it will be time to start the final model, finish all CAD work on 3D Max and fill the sketchbook as much as possible!
