High ’n’ Dry  

The multifunctional chair for space conscious students 

 

In a team of three we were asked to create a piece of furniture and challenge ourselves to gain key skills in the workshop. 

 

As three students we decided to look at the very limited space that we have in our term time homes. By interviewing several other students we concluded that one of the most pressing issues was that of “Where do you dry your clothes in such a tiny room?”. 

 

Deciding to tackle this problem we set about looking at how to combine a clothes drying facility into a pre-existing fixture in the room and thus the multifunctional ‘High ’n’ Dry Chair’ was born. 

Made of a basic wooden frame and woven with washing line (in colour of choice) the chair can become a stylish and statement feature of any students room.
