Over the last week I have focused my time on gaining first hand research by speaking to as many young adults as possible. Initially talking to my fellow students I then reached out to young people that were in full time work, others who are unemployed and those who have just graduated or moved to the city recently.
Actually going out there and speaking to people was surprisingly easy and extremely rewarding. Having spent the weekend in Glasgow I was fortunate enough to visit a group of old course mates who later introduced me to work colleagues and other acquaintances all of whom seemed more than willing to open up and chat to me. A surprisingly high number of those I spoke to said they knew only too well the struggles many young adults face these days when it comes to anxiety, loneliness and depression.
Speaking to the potential end users also gave me a chance to gain some really valuable feedback and I am now going to look through all my results to analysis the data and decide how to progress!
